The Grandview Steelers main camp continued today which saw their first inter-squad game between Team Black and Team Gold.
The first period saw both teams shake off a lot of rust and feeling out the game. Team Black did carry the play but neither team managed to score. In the second period, despite Team Black opening the scoring, Team Gold responded huge by taking a commanding 5-2 lead into the third. This set up a dramatic ending as the Team Gold were desperately holding onto a 1 goal lead as Team Black were coming in waves. With the goaltender pulled for the extra attacker for the last 90 seconds, Team Gold had a couple opportunity to put the final nail in the coffin. Team Black kept battling and found the equalizer with less than 10 seconds left. The game went to a shoot out and Team Black completed the comeback scoring twice 2-0.
Both teams are right back at it on Sunday and will end the 3-day session with their final inter-squad game prior to their first pre-season match on August 21.
