It’s Halloween and the Grandview Steelers come out in their original vintage “Snoopy’s” as they paint the House of Steeltown Pride bright orange as they battle the Mission City Outlaws. The Steelers will be looking for redemption as the last time the met earlier this month, the Outlaws stole 2 points with a shootout win behind a stellar performance from goaltender Brian Dale with 39 saves.
It was a good start for the Steelers as they controlled the tempo early on however the Outlaws did a very good job of clogging up the ice waiting for their opportunity to counter attack. The Steelers did make a mistake giving the puck away in their own zone and the opportunistic Outlaws make good to open the scoring late in the period. However, the Steelers drew a penalty and the special teams made good to tie up the game before the end of the period with a nice finish with Alec Pettingale.
In the middle frame, the Steelers opened up the game with two nitty gritty goals from Aaron Mak and Nathan Bran. This caused the game to open up as the Steelers look to build on their lead while the Outlaws push to battle back into the game.
It was more of the same as the Steelers add 2 additional goals getting contributions from Vincent Timperio and Hudson Loh. Steelers goaltender Ronin Geraghty took care of the rest to cruise to victory.
The Steelers generated 37 shots while the Outlaws slung 27 shots of their own.
