The Kodiaks jumped all over the Steelers right from the get go and took advantage of some tired legs. A costly turnover at the Steelers blue line sees the Kodiaks find the opening goal. The Steelers settling into the game, make good on their powerplay opportunity to tie up the game.

It was more of the same in the middle frame as the Kodiaks turned up the pressure which gave the Steelers all sorts of fits getting pucks out of their zone. The Steelers conceded the lead to the Kodiaks despite contesting to the ref’s that there was contact with Kermany. The Steelers did find the tying goal once again but this time with the penalty killing unit manufacturing a short handed marker.

The Kodiaks continue to suffocate the Steelers controlling the play and the pace as their pressure was relentless however Kermany and the Steelers held down the fort. About midway through the game, both teams brought chaos to both nets but unable to wrestle the lead away. Late in the third, the Steelers take an ill advised penalty and the Kodiaks score within seconds, which turned out to be the game winning goal.
