The Steelers can’t find enough offense against the league leading Wolf Pack.

The Grandview Steelers have had a busy week with 3 games, capping a home game hosting the Wolf Pack. The last time these teams met, the game was postponed due to a medical precautionary situation. The make up game for that postponed game will conclude next week. The Steelers had tough games prior to tonight with losing efforts against the Langley Trappers on Wednesday and to the Richmond Sockeyes last night. The boys in black and gold will be motivated to salvage the week and avoid losing 4 straight dating back to last Sunday against the Delta Ice Hawks.

The Steelers and Wolf Pack were battling for every inch of ice while doing their best to not give the opposing team anything, a masterclass chess match on 200 feet of ice. This resulted in a scoreless first period.

It was all Steelers for the first 15 minutes of the middle frame as they were able to grind out the game. Even with the game being scoreless, the Steelers must have felt very comfortable with this style of game. However, it got all turned upside down as the Steelers take the first penalty of the game. The Wolf Pack ready to pounce, didn’t manage to score on the power play, instead generated momentum which sees them score two quick goals in the latter stages of the period.

In the third period, the Steelers did well to find a goal to get within 1 but unable to find the equalizer conceding an empty net goal to drop a 3-1 decision.

The Steelers mustered 24 shots while the Wolf Pack registered 29 shots of their own.

The 3 Stars are brought to you by CCM.

The Steelers continue their busy schedule as they take a road trip to play the Surrey Knights on Thursday and to play the Port Moody Panthers on Saturday night. The Steelers will continue the postponed Wolf Pack Game next Sunday.
