The Grandview Steelers are coming off an exciting win over the Port Moody Panthers lead by Hundson Loh who recorded 4 goals in an 9-2 victory. Defeseman Dylan Narduzzi also exploded offensively last night with 5 assists. The Ice Hawks are also coming with confidence with a two game win streak over Aldergrove Kodiaks and Richmond Sockeyes.
The Ice Hawks punish the Steelers with a power play goal early in the period as they took control of the game. The Ice Hawks followed up with the first four games by the 13 minute mark to chase starting goaltender Kermany. The Steelers did finally respond with their own two getting goals from Carter Demelo and Jacob Myers to cut the lead in half to stay in the fight.
The teams traded penalties early but it was the Steelers generated momentum getting two quick goals within 20 seconds to tie up the game. Late in the period Isaac Phillips had a partial breakaway but was turned away. In the final moments of the period, with the Steelers on the penalty kill, the Ice Hawks got turned around the Phillips got another chance on the breakaway. He made no mistake this time to carry a 5-4 lead into the third.
The Ice Hawks and Steelers began a game of ping pong on the scoreboard with the Ice Hawks scoring the next two to retake the lead. The Steelers replied to again tie up the game at 6. However the Ice Hawks score last to outlast the Steelers 7-6.
The Steelers generated 34 shots while the Ice Hawks replied with 25 shots.

The Steelers head on the road down the Fraser River to battle the Sockeyes on Thursday night before hosting the White Rock Whalers on Sunday night.
Both teams flew the coup but the Steelers ran out of gas to the high flying Ice Hawks in a race to score the last goal.
