Steelers Win: The Boys are Charged Up

The Grandview Steelers March for March continued against the Sockeyes as they win a defensive tilt, beating the Richmond Sockeyes 3-1.

The Sockeyes, 4th overall in the league standings were held to 21 shots, with Ronin Geraghty stopping 20 of those shots. And while the Sockeyes did have quite a few chances in the first two periods of the game the Steelers defence stepped into the shooting lane, blocking shots at key moments.

Heading into the 2nd period the Steelers opened the scoring thanks to a classic slap shot from Markus Johansen. That goal had more meaning as Captain Gabe Adam got an assist on that play scoring his 100th career PJHL point.

The 3rd period, things picked up a bit more with Aidan Teixera scoring early in the period. However the Sockeyes would eventually strike back keeping the game within one goal.

In the last moments of the game, the Steelers won a key defensive draw which sent former Richmond Sockeye Noah Gibbons on a partial break to pot in the empty net goal.
