The Grandview Steelers got back on home ice in what was yet another do or die game. And the Steelers did not disappoint ousting the Delta IceHawks 5-2.
It was a shaky start to the game for the Grandview Steelers as they conceived the first two goals of the game, and the IceHawks offence had been firing on all cylinders ahead of Sunday’s match-up scoring 14 goals in the last two games prior.
However, big saves by Steelers goaltender Ronin Geraghty built enough momentum for Steeler rookies Tyson Osachoff and Jack MacFarlane to quickly score two and tie the game before the end of the 1st period. But the Rookie showcase didn’t end there.
In the 2nd and 3rd period the rookie line continued to ride their hot hand(s) as Osachoff, Aangid Manhas and MacFarlane scored the next three goals to propel the Steelers to a 5-2 win.

The Steelers playoff hopes are alive. However, in order for the Steelers to qualify for the final playoff spot in the Tom Shaw Conference the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers will have to lose at least one of their remaining games this season and the Steelers will have to win their last two games.
The Steelers next game is their last home game of the 2024-2025 PJHL regular season as they host the Port Moody Panthers this Wednesday (February 5th).
