The Grandview Steelers kicked off their first game of the Winter Classic with a 3-0 win over a struggling Aldergrove Kodiaks establishing their 2nd four game winning streak so far this season.
It was an all around good performance for the team, but goaltending stood out for the Steelers once again as starting Goalie Shayan Kermany stopped 25 shots to secure the shutout.
With a few big chances in the slot and right in front of the net Kermany stood tall and got the job done. (Watch the YouTube Highlights to see a Kermany Robbery)
Massimo Ardizzoni got himself back in the goal column, cashing in on a rebound in the 2nd period.
On the defensive side of the line-up, Markus Johansen made his return from an injury.
Johansen played his first game since November 3rd and it seems he’s recovered well from his injury getting on scoresheet with an assist. And despite the long gap for him, he’s now extended his point streak to four games.
