Steelers Win: Fight for Playoffs Continues

The Grandview Steelers bounced back in the win column in a back and forth game with the White Rock Whalers.

Both teams, loosing their previous matches were looking to get back in the win column. However, an unsung hero dominated the first 40 mins of the game. Forward James Lin scored the first two goals and assisted on the third.

Lin, was originally acquired from the Delta Ice Hawks earlier in the season, and Lin made his value stand out tonight.

Another recent acquisition for the Steelers is also keeping a hot hand, Noah Gibbons. Acquired from the Richmond Sockeyes Gibbons now has two points in three games played as a Steeler.

Meanwhile it was a big special teams improvement for the Steelers. The Penalty Kill unit(s) killed all three Whalers Power-plays.

As for the standings (as of December 15th), the Grandview Steelers are now tied for 5th in the Tom Shaw Conference, the second Survivor Series playoff spot.

Steelers are in Mission to take on the Outlaws for their next game on Saturday, December 21st.
