Steelers Win: Explosive 2nd Period Propels Win

The Grandview Steelers were looking to get back into the win column against the Port Moody Panthers on Monday night, and it was Monday night fever for the goal lamp as the Steelers ousted the Port Moody Panthers 8-2.

The win was a crucial one as of Monday, January 6th the Steelers are now five points back of the 5th and final playoff spot in the Tom Shaw Conference. And with the season slowly coming to an end, every game is a high stakes game.

And tonight proved the Steelers are fighting through the remainder of the 2024-2025 PJHL regular season. Despite falling behind 1-0 in the 1st period, the Steelers scored five un-answered goals in the 2nd period. The usual standouts, Steven Konechny scored two goals and Kori Belanger picked up two assist both with line-mate Steven Konechny.

The one fine-line in this win, Defenceman Markus Johansen. Since coming back from his injury Johansen is on a seven game point streak scoring nine points over that span.
