The Grandview Steelers opened up the first week of the season against the Richmond Sockeyes and hosted the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers for their home opener.
Starting the opening week of the PJHL season 1-1-0 the Steelers compiled a total of five goals in two games, in those two games some Steelers notched their first career PJHL goals. Forwards Jack MacFarlane, Aangid Manhas and Associate Player Gabriel Kaminsky all scored their first career PJHL goals. To start the 57th season in Steelers franchise history, the Grandview Steelers open up with 10 rookies on the roster.
While that may sound like a lot, returning players such as Captain Gabe Adam, Alternate Captain Kori Belanger, Alternate Captain Aidan Teixeira and Kassius Kler have also found themselves on the scoresheet early on.
The Steelers 2024-2025 campaign started off with a rough go against the Richmond Sockeyes loosing 6-2, where rookie Jack MacFarlane scored one of 2 goals for the Steelers. And just a few days later, the message in the locker room was a simple one that’s commonly echoed across the hockey community, “get the puck on net”.
And they did exactly that against the Trailblazers. Getting 29 shots on net, Manhas and Kaminsky’s first goals in the PJHL lifted the Steelers to a 3-2 win.
