The Grandview Steelers finish what has been a very intense stretch of games for them. Playing four games over a span of six days, the Steelers dropped the fourth in Langley loosing to the Trappers 3-0.
An end-to-end game ended up in favour of the Trappers. And for the Steelers, the last 30 mins were seemingly some of their best. And with some chances in the third period to close in on a 2-0 gap, a late period hooking penalty called on Defenceman Josh Mantle, prevented any further chances for the Steelers to make a comeback, allowing Langley to score their third on the power play.
Getting the nod to start this game was goaltender Shayan Kermany. Kermany, made 26 saves on 29 shots and made some marquee saves throughout the game to keep the Steelers within striking distance prior to the Trappers third goal of the game.
We caught up with Assistant Coach and Director of Analytics Jon Silcox for a recap on Wednesday’s game as well as the next steps for the club heading into Sunday’s game against Mission:
Our next game is Sunday December 1st, our Teddy Bear toss game! All bears will be cleaned up and donated to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.
