The Grandview Steelers played their first game of 2025 in a high stakes setting.
In a highly competitive Tom Shaw Conference. The Port Coquitlam Trailblazers played comeback kids and won 6-4 in Over Time (OT).
The Steelers and Trailblazers were neck and neck in the first two periods. The Steelers top-six group did well with Steven Konechny, Noah Gibbons, Colby Longeau and Markus Johansen all getting on the scoresheet for the Steelers.
The guns were firing for both offences. But unfortunately for the Steelers, four straight penalty calls slowed down their momentum, and the Trailblazers took advantage. Despite only scoring one powerplay goal in the third period the Trailblazers scored three straight (last one an empty net goal) to win the game.
